What we do

Today, the Virginia House Settlement focuses on giving grants to local charities that support and involve the people of Plymouth.

Since 2006, VHS has nearly £360,000 in grants; we have also provided significant in-kind support to the local charity Friends and Families of Special Children which uses our premises free of charge.  So in the last eleven years alone we have invested nearly £360,000 in grants or in-kind support to over fifty local charities that help the people of Plymouth.

The charities and projects that we support range from the Cruse Bereavement, Carers UK Plymouth and Relate Plymouth to local scout groups, the Oasis Project Foodbank, Pregnancy Crisis Care Plymouth and Plymouth Family Support.  A full list of the organisations supported since 2006 can be found in the Past Grants section.

You can find out more about the grants that we offer in the Applying for Grants section of this website, and if you have any questions about the sorts of organisations and projects we can support then do email us through the Contact Us section.
